国际贸易和投资是经济增长的重要动力。近年来，世界经济的规模和格局发生了巨大变化，传统的贸易和投资模式不得不随之迅速演变。我们面临的挑战是确保监管框架跟上形势。数字经济的增长、服务业的崛起和国际生产网络的普及，都改变了国际贸易的格局。

International trade and investment are important drivers of economic growth. In recent years, the size and structure of the world economy have changed dramatically, and traditional trade and investment patterns have had to evolve rapidly. The challenge is to make sure the regulatory framework keeps up. The growth of the digital economy, the rise of the service sector and the spread of international production networks have all changed the pattern of international trade.

This course will give participants an understanding of how the international trading system works. This course will provide an overview of trade theory and its development, but the focus will be on the political economy of domestic and international trade and the nature of the international trading system. This course will cover the tensions affecting international trade and investment policy.
