项目背景 Program Background


发展经济学是经济学分支之一,主要研究对象为贫困落后的农业国家或发展中国家如何实现工业化,摆脱贫困、走向富裕的过程。微型金融(以小额信贷为主体)革命使得全世界超过两亿的贫困人口无需通过抵押的方式获得小额贷款。提供值得信赖、价格合理的金融服务能够对经济和社会产生巨大影响。这一理念拓展了世界各国政策制定者、社会活动家、银行家以及研究者的想象力。

Development economics is one of the branches of economics. The main research object is how poor and backward agricultural countries or developing countries realize industrialization, get rid of poverty and become rich. The revolution in microfinance has allowed more than 200 million poor people around the world to obtain microloans without collateral. Providing trustworthy, affordable financial services can have a huge impact on economies and societies. This idea has captured the imagination of policymakers, activists, bankers and researchers around the world.

本课程将讨论发展经济学领域的重要问题:为什么有些国家如此富有,而大多数国家却如此贫穷,教育和卫生的发展对经济发展重要吗,高人口增长是否有利于经济繁荣,可以放宽信贷,等等。在解决这些问题的同时,课程还会引入其他*新的经济学观点,从辩证和政策影响角度进行实证分析。

This course will discuss important questions in the field of development economics: why some countries are so rich while most are so poor, does the development of education and health matter for economic development, is high population growth conducive to economic prosperity, can credit be made easier, and so on. In addition to addressing these issues, the course will introduce other recent economic perspectives and provide empirical analysis from the perspective of dialectic and policy impact.

After working at the Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago and as a visiting associate professor at Georgetown University, Advisor to the American Law Institute's World Trade Law Principles Program and a member of the Advisory Board of the Pew Charitary Trusts' Funded Programs.

  • 能够运用辩证思维和数理逻辑思维方法、以及实证分析方法分析解决社会经济现象和具体问题,并能初步对政府的相关经济政策及规定进行正确的理解和运用。Able to use dialectical thinking and mathematical logic thinking methods, as well as empirical analysis methods to analyze and solve social economic phenomena and specific problems, and can initially understand and apply the relevant economic policies and regulations of the government correctly.
